AN UNCIVIL WAR IN THE MAKING
Finger Pointing Is Never a Winning Solution.
There appears to be a “civil war” brewing over who will speak for the public when it comes to public health decisions and it makes no sense.
Donald J. Trump was and will be the President of ALL Americans. That means that you and I are never going to be happy with all the decisions that he makes. But one thing I do know is that he cannot afford to fill his administration with people on either end of a disagreement. Compromise is always the goal but not the compromise of principles. The constant criticism of Operation Warp Speed is really one sided and it completely ignores that Trump was responding to what the public wanted and his advisors told him was needed. Public health policy cannot, must not revolve around any fringe theory nor can it wait for all the data before articulating the best available path forward in a "crisis” nor can it be one-sided but most importantly can it be formulated on false premises and lies.
Operation Warp Speed was a response to demands for ventilators, hospital capacity, and a vaccine. Trump did his part by establishing the conditions that allowed for the rapid production of ventilators, deployment of the hospital ship, USNS Comfort, and the rapid unimpeded “development” of a “novel vaccine”. But the people who demanded those ventilators and increased hospital capacity didn't use either. The "vaccine" in this public health policy biochemist’s view was predicated on an inherently dangerous insertion of foreign mRNA into what turned out to be unwitting, human test subjects. As might have been predicted the mRNA used to TREAT COVID-19 has found a way to alter the human genome. Its development should have been subjected to deeper scrutiny and thought from the beginning.
Mandates for all sorts of crazy things came not from Trump but from the FDA, CDC, NIH, the media, the Biden administration and a public driven by the lies that they were told by those organizations. Yet SOME prominent physicians writing on Substack are blaming Trump and the “medical freedom” groups that have emerged for what those physicians see as chaos even before Trump’s inauguration — a thing not unlike Maxine Water’s call for the impeachment of Donald Trump BEFORE he took the oath of office in 2017.
In brief, Trump is being blamed by those physicians for forcing Operation Warp Speed on an unwitting public but as I laid out above that simply is not true. But what its true is that Trump didn't change the definition of a "vaccine" but Rochelle Walensky did just as she changed the case the definition of COVID. Trump didn't promote the preposterous notion that SARS-CoV-2 came from a bat but Fauci did. Trump suggested that HCQ and Ivermectin might be reasonable treatments but the FDA publicly disparaged both effective treatments, setting the stage for Pfizer's Remdesivir - drug known to adversely effect the kidneys and livers of those with having existing kidney and liver disease both of which increased the risk of mortality from COVID-19.
Vaccines, true vaccines and not the Walensky pseudo-vaccines that are really treatments, should be readily available to those who want them IF AND ONLY IF they are found to be SAFE AND EFFECTIVE. Those are words straight from an FDA that disparaged a substance, Ivermectin, that has decades of successful human use without a suggestion of adverse effect. In short, Ivermectin is safe for human use. And as it turned out, it was also effective in treating COVID and other viral infections if given in the right dose at the right time. But more importantly, Ivermectin was most likely disparaged because it poses a direct threat to the cancer chemotherapy industry. Some time ago, I wrote a white paper on this topic and provided it to the folks at Oasis of Hope Hospital who subsequently incorporated Ivermectin into their armory of cancer therapies. Fenbendazole has also been added. For those who are interested that white paper can be found here.
In what now is being cast as a public health civil war over which group will establish public health policy in this administration it is important to never forget that the public is reasonably demanding that they and only they decide which treatments (prophylactic or otherwise) they want put into their bodies and particularly their children’s. It is the federal government’s job to ensure that those treatments work and are safe and to convey that information clearly and concisely. BUT it is not the role of the federal government or any level of government to mandate any treatment — particularly when that treatment has not been fully tested for safety and when there is compelling data about its adverse effects.
Given CDC’s own vastly under-reported data on the dangers of the mRNA COVID-19 inoculant it is no wonder that some segments — particularly those in the so-called “medical freedom” sector don’t even want the word vaccine spoken let alone forced on them.
There appears to be a “civil war” brewing over who will speak for the public when it comes to public health decisions and it makes no sense.
External second guessing is decidedly unhelpful.
What is needed is for reasonable people to make reasoned decisions and to set limits on the role of the federal government and to stop insisting that the federal government or any government should be in the business of putting its thumb on the scale of personal medical decision making. And all of it needs to be done in the light of day and calm of dusk.
