CDC STRUGGLES WITH THE COMPLEX ISSUE OF HOW TO COMPLY WITH AN EXECUTIVE ORDER
Or They're Just Having A Group Temper Tantrum
Shortly after taking the Oath of Office on January 20, 2025 President Trump issued this Executive Order (EO): Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing.
That Executive Order reads in part:
Sec. 2. Implementation. (a) The Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), assisted by the Attorney General and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), shall coordinate the termination of all discriminatory programs, including illegal DEI and “diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility” (DEIA) mandates, policies, programs, preferences, and activities in the Federal Government, under whatever name they appear.
In response to that EO the Office of Personnel Management issued this Memorandum which reads in part:
”Steps to Close Agency DEIA Offices: In light of the above Executive Orders, each should take prompt actions regarding the offices and agency sub-units focusing exclusively on DEIA initiatives and programs (the “DEIA offices”). Specifically, agency heads should take the following steps:
1.No later than 5:00 pm EST on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 1. No later than 5:00 pm EST on Wednesday, January 22, 2025
a. Send an agency-wide notice to employees informing them of the closure and asking employees if they know of any efforts to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language a template agency-wide notice is attached as Appendix 1.
b. Send a notification to all employees of DEIA offices that they are being placed on paid administrative leave effective immediately as the agency takes steps to close/end all DEIA initiatives, offices and programs.1 A template employee letter is attached as Appendix 2.
c. Take down all outward facing media (websites, social media accounts, etc.) of DEIA offices.”
This is language often referred to as unambiguous.
Everyday for the last three days I have visited CDC.gov and have searched for the term LGBTQ and each time the first result returned links to this page:
Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth which has a number of other links embedded in it that clearly foster a tight relationship between CDC and America’s children concerning LGBTQ+ ideology
The CDC website is large to say the least and not wanting to spend days wending my through looking for the vast array of DEI related material I asked my new best friend, Grok, this question: What has CDC done to comply with president Trump’s EO on DEI? and here is Grok’s answer:
President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order aimed at ending what he described as "radical and wasteful" diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in the federal government. This EO was issued in January 2025, according to recent updates. Here's how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has responded based on the available information:
Immediate Actions: The CDC, like other federal agencies, was directed to place officials working on DEI programs on administrative leave and to shut down DEI offices by 5 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. This was part of a broader directive from the Trump administration to dismantle DEI initiatives across federal agencies.
Employee Notification: Federal employees were instructed to inform on any attempts to continue these programs under different guises, with threats of "adverse consequences" for non-compliance. This implies that CDC employees were also part of this directive, where they were encouraged to report any ongoing DEI activities.
Operational Changes: Specific to the CDC, there's no detailed documentation on how these orders were executed within the agency, but it's clear that the overarching policy from the administration would require the CDC to halt, review, or reframe any ongoing DEI projects or initiatives to comply with the EO.
Potential Impact: The cessation of DEI programs could affect the CDC's efforts in promoting health equity, which has been a part of its mission. However, the exact operational changes within the CDC in response to this EO are not yet fully documented in public sources.
In short, the answer is: NOT A THING.
On the other hand the Depart of Education has completely complied. Clearly CDC is looking for ways to not comply. Arrogance is not new to CDC. OR it is possible that the agency is having a corporate temper tantrum with much weeping and gnashing of teeth inter mingled with loud complaints of:
‘Who does the boss think he is??!!!’

The least likely place to find faithful adherence to the law is from the people who administer the law.
What the effect was in Canada is that the teacher's union stepped forward and demanded that all teachers sign the DEI motions in their contracts. 🇨🇦
