“Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
— Amendment I, the Constitution of the United States of America
I am compelled to write about the state of freedom for each of us to speak freely and to responsibly govern our own speech - and of those who hate us for that and would end it. I tell those of you reading this that we are on a journey where the “first step is a Lulu.” It is no longer just the well worn “slippery slope”. It is now a headlong plunge into darkness.
In what nation is an anonymous individual with no substantial accomplishment allowed to declare that the President of the United, US Senators, and members of the House of Representatives are undeserving of a platform from which to share their message with the People whom they govern and represent or for the People to decide the truth of what they are hearing?
In what nation is an individual with no scientific education or training allowed to assert that trained scientists and physicians are spreading scientific “misinformation” and, therefore, should be banned from the public arena and be financially and socially destroyed? In some cases prison is demanded.
The answer to those questions is horrifying for me comprehend and it should be equally horrifying to every person who cherishes and fought for freedom either in or out of a uniform.
That nation is ours. It is us.
Once regarded as the shining city on the hill we are rapidly diving into the abyss of darkness made of ignorance and cowardice and an unquenched thirst for political and social power.
Facebook, Google, Twitter, and most surprising of all Spotify are allowing people of no particular accomplishment or societal value to decide who can and can not speak and what they may say when they speak do. That Neil Young, an aged rocker of some past fame has a right to demand that a person who offers an opinion with which he disagrees should be removed from Spotify is repugnant and disgusting.
Meanwhile, scientifically and medically untrained media personalities are free to offer their uneducated and untrained opinions about who is telling the truth an who is not and even more troubling - what that truth is. Joseph Mercola , censored by every legacy social media platform has found a refuge here on Substack. But the wolves of censorship have followed demanding that he be deplatformed. That link will not work for long, because the constant attacks by the so-called main stream media force Mercola leave his articles up for just 48 hours. And now that he has found a home on Substack to post his archive they are after Substack demanding that they take action to remove those archives.
Who are these people that would trample the right of free people to speak and heard and judged only by their audience?
Here’s one of them. Elizabeth Dwoskin - a journalist for The Washington Post, an outlet well known for its hatred of Donald Trump and all things conservative and apparently all things scientific. This is what Dwoskin wrote concerning Mercola’s analysis in which he concluded that the risk of death from the mRNA inoculants in children was greater than the risk of dying from COVID:
”Joseph Mercola, a leading anti-vaccine advocate whose screeds have been restricted by YouTube and Facebook, this month warned that the unvaccinated might soon be imprisoned in government-run camps. The week before, he circulated a study purporting to use government data to prove that more children had died of covid shots than from the coronavirus itself.
Shut down by major social media platforms, Mercola has found a new way to spread these debunked claims: on Substack, the subscription-based newsletter platform that is increasingly a hub for controversial and often misleading perspectives about the coronavirus.”
The link that she provides to support her assertion that Mercola is spreading “debunked claims” leads to an OPINION offered by Tom Kertshcer of Politico; a publication well known for its peer reviewed scientific publications. (insert eye roll).
This is what Kertscher wrote:
”In July 2021, the CDC reported there were 14 deaths among 8.9 million people age 12 to 17 who received Pfizer vaccinations. None of the deaths were determined to be related to the vaccines, said Dr. Sonja Rasmussen, professor in pediatrics and epidemiology at the University of Florida.”
The problem is that CDC never made that statement. THIS is what CDC really wrote about the VAERS reports of mortality in children:
”Impressions regarding cause of death did not indicate a pattern suggestive of a causal relationship with vaccination; however, cause of death for some decedents is pending receipt of additional information.”
At best this is a statement demonstrating uncertainty of causality and does not even approach Kertscher’s assertion that no deaths in children were vaccine related. And just to pile on a bit, Kertscher made not one single attempt at refuting Mercola’s argument: he simply said that it is wrong. Period. End of story! OFF with his head!
In that same article, Kertscher also wrote this:”
”There is no clear evidence that COVID-19 vaccines have caused any deaths in the U.S., according to the CDC.”
The problem that Kertscher has here is that CDC has never done the analysis of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System to support that statement; nor have they ever made that statement.
It is, in fact, Tom Kertcher who is spreading misinformation and not those of us who are begging for that the analysis of the VAERS reports to be done to determine if causality exists. But Ketcher, a man of no scientific background or apparent scientific curiosity has decided for us that the mRNA “vaccines” are harmless.
This is just one example of the extent to which the left wing media is going in order to shut down a story that for whatever horribly twisted reasons they don’t want told. The fact that they hide behind a the banner of some self-important media outlet and use it to insulate themselves from the arena of open and honest scientific debate does not make them wise, it makes them cowards.
Many of us writing here including me have been the subject of social media censorship. Following the 2019 election I tried to present factual information concerning the evidence of electoral impropriety on a FB page called “Kentucky for Trump”. That page had routinely experienced somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 contacts per day until November 9, 2019 when suddenly instead of 2,000 contacts a day — traffic fell to 2 visitors/day. More than two later it has not changed.
Today, everything that I post on that page or others is flagged if the word “COVID” is in story even if it is not the subject of post. Other posts have received a more severe warning to me and any who read or share what I post.
Substack.Com is offering that place earned by the blood of every man and woman who died defending our Constitution to ensure that free speech reigns. Let us all pray for the strength of purpose and courage to regain our freedom speak.
