FB has now made sharing Larry's Letters (and I presume the work of other Substack writers) to groups that I or they may belong to, burdensome. Until recently Substack, I assume in cooperation with FB and other social media sites allowed me to 1) click on "Share on FB" which gave me a text box where I could enter the name of a FB group and 2) click on that link, 3) click post at the bottom of the form and be on my way to the next group. It was simple and easy AND it allowed rapid distribution of Larry's Letters to an audience far in excess of the number of subscribers.
Now, however, if I want to use FB to distribute Larry’s Letters I have to copy the link physically open the page and enter the link to the current Larry's Letters —- for each FB group I belong to that is politically oriented. Its quite a few.
Yes I can go to the list of groups I belong to and scroll through them to find the ones I want to post to. Still more work than before but it is still burdensome. It is the kind of change that is made intentionally and offers no benefit to FB, only control.
Clearly, free speech (particularly in an election year) and FB are not friends.

I don't think free speech and Facebook were ever friends.
