Eight months ago when I began the series on transgenderism I did so with great reluctance but I was compelled to begin writing the story of how it has invaded our lives, our families, our schools, our businesses, and worst of all — our churches. Eight months later the demands of the transgender activists are becoming more strident, more persistent, and despite opposition from parents, politicians, leaders, and clergy those demands are increasing in volume and in the number of advocates making those demands. Since October I have been asking myself one question. Why?
Why, despite the blowback on Anheuser-Busch, Disney, local schools, colleges and universities and those who are happily performing mutilating surgeries on our children are the advocates becoming louder and more militant?
And here is my answer.
Let us go back to the beginning; the very beginning.
“1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1:1-5
Over the next 4 days God created everything. Plants, animals on the Earth and below it, in the water, and in the sky. And then, on the sixth day God did this:
“26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Genesis 1:26-31
In just six days God created perfection in all things. Life was good.
And then there was Satan, the fallen Cherub who came to challenge God. Satan destroyed the trust between God and Adam and Eve and he has been at play ever since. Satan will not be satisfied until he replaces God. Satan has no power to create or destroy but he does have the ability to create chaos in the heart and mind of man and to destroy mans faith that God is our salvation.
IF I were Satan how would I do that? How would I go about breaking the bond between God and his creation — for ever? I would do it by destroying the premise upon which mankind exists.
“27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth….” Genesis 1:27
I would convince man — one way or another — that he does not have a special relationship with God, that he was not created in God’s image, and that, therefore, he is not a perfect creation. Nor is God the perfect creator. If I could convince man that God’s creation was not perfect that God got somethings wrong, if I could do that — the battle between God and me would be over and I would be the victor.
If I were Satan I would look for a wedge issue so powerful that it rocks the core belief in God that “…every thing that he had made … was very good.” I would create a grand lie. I would convince those of weak or of no faith that how they feel is far more important than how they were created. I would convince them that they can overcome God’s flawed biology. I would convince them that because of God’s error they had the right to choose their gender. And I would convince them that they had the right to demand that everyone else, including people of faith, believers in God’s perfect design, MUST agree with them in their choice. I would convince them that if those people of faith refused their demands that they have the right to destroy those institutions that celebrate and hold fast to the special relationship between man and God.
“1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5
IF I were Satan, I would want to hide my deceit so that I could convince you that God is not perfect and that you do not have a special relationship with him. IF I were Satan, I would want to remove Genesis from existence and cause you to reject God all together.
Even the seemingly ridiculous demand that we recognize a person’s “pronouns” is designed to reject God and his creation as told in Genesis. If Genesis goes it all goes. There is no longer a Bible that presents God’s word. There is no more faith and man no longer has purpose. There is nothing.
We cannot be a child of God who has been saved by his grace but at the same time reject his perfect creation. They are mutually exclusive acts.
