MARIANNE PROCTOR HAS EARNED YOUR VOTE
The Race For KY State Representative For House District 60; Southern Boone County
There are two types of candidate for public office. The first is the candidate that offers platitudes and content free statements of visions and goals which are at best aspirational. Then there are the candidates who are exquisitely open, honest, and precise when it comes to the positions that they hold and who are unafraid of staking out a position that some might call “controversial” while others call those same positions “common sense”.
Marianne Proctor is the incumbent candidate who comfortably and effectively dons the armor of effective, targeted leadership and representation of her constituents in Kentucky House District 60. Ms. Proctor is the only candidate in this race who has articulated where she stands on a variety of issues from Veteran’s affairs to the so-called Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
We know precisely where Representative Proctor stands because her legislative track record of sponsored bills explains her positions in detail. I urge each of you to spend a few minutes reading the bills which Representative Proctor has sponsored but more importantly take the time to read her responses to Ballotpedia’s 2022 Candidate Connection Survey.
Representative Proctor has one primary opponents: Chris Pavese. Chris Pavese has made this analysis simple by failing to offer anything more than aspirational, content free, one or two sentence long statements.
You don’t have to take my word for it when we have the candidates words to rely on. First, Mr. Pavese:
A Message from Chris Pavese
It is my honor to seek the opportunity to serve as your State Representative for the 60th District of Kentucky. As a dedicated father, husband, and professional engineer, my commitment to our community runs deep. My vision for our district is rooted in the values of hard work, integrity, and service. I bring a proven track record of professional and charitable leadership, and I am ready to champion our district's needs in Frankfort.
Next, Representative Proctor:
Candidate Statement
During the COVID lockdowns, two weeks to flatten the curve became two years of unconstitutional government overreach and tyranny. Virtual school revealed the flaws in our education system, including divisive race and gender identity theories and radical diversity/equity/inclusion policies. Parents who demanded better for their children were labeled domestic terrorists. Election laws were altered without a vote of the people or their elected legislative body. Medical choice and bodily autonomy with regard to masks and vaccine mandates were disregarded and also exposed weaknesses in our monopolistic healthcare system. Many businesses were ordered to shut their doors and too many have never reopened. On top of the financial crisis created by the lockdowns, Frankfort’s tax and spending policies exacerbate an increasingly fragile economy from which our ability to recover is diminishing. We have reached critical mass. The madness of big government must be stopped. We the People must be heard in Frankfort, starting here in Boone County. It is a privilege to be your voice in the Capitol. I would be honored to receive your vote for re-election on May 21, 2024.
We also have the candidate’s responses to a Ballotpedia survey. First, Mr. Pavese’s answer to the question: “What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?”
Mr. Pavese’s answer: “Preparing for the future.”
Then we have Representative Proctor’s answer to the same question: “What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?”
Representative Proctor’s answer: “Economic recovery from the 2020-2021 pandemic and lock-downs will be one of the largest challenges for KY. Many small businesses were severely harmed if they were able to remain viable at all, with all of the lock-downs, regulations, and restrictions that were imposed on them. There was minimal help from the very government that shut them down and put undue regulations on them if they were to keep operating. Soaring inflation, record high gas prices, supply chain shortages and reduced work force participation rates negatively impact our already fragile economy. Unchecked spending, proposal for new taxes, and a large unfunded pension liability will also hinder our economic recovery.”
I am a firm believer that we reap what we sow in all things. The selection of who will represent us at the local, state, and federal levels of government is no different. For decades we have sown our electoral seed poorly and as a consequence every institution put in place by our founders is under attack most particularly the freedoms and protections guaranteed us by the Bill of Rights.
How has this happened? Not because of some nefarious plot to steal elections - mostly. But because we have chosen poorly. The only way to protect what we have been given is to choose wisely.
Marianne Proctor is the wise choice to continue representing those of us from House District 60 in Frankfort. In fact, Ms. Proctor is the only choice worthy of your vote.
“Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.
8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
9Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” Mark 4:3-9
There will be more on this race.
