I have written about this too many times. I have explained it to people even more times. I understand that when I retired from the US Public Health Service after a 30 year career writing national SCIENCE BASED policy to protect workers from chemical and biological exposures, I lost all my knowledge and credentials. Never mind that everyone of those public health policies that I wrote contained well thought out recommendations based on the REAL SCIENCE of respiratory protection. That, my friends, is just how it is. Nevertheless, here it is again in yet another way.
MUTATIONS
Why do viruses mutate and how often do those mutations occur and what are their effects on the virus’ ability to cause illness? Here’s the Cliff’s Notes version.
Viruses mutate in human cells constantly. Generally speaking, some mutations occur as a consequence of the replication mechanism misreading the DNA or RNA within the virus and sometimes the mutation is directed toward increasing survivability. Why? So that the virus can make more of itself: dead host, no replication.
Do those mutations cause the virus to be more infective? Sometimes. Are those mutations more harmful to the host cell? Not very often. Why? Because the one and only function of a virus is replication and in order to replicate it needs its host to stay alive. It is not in a virus’ best interest to kill its host (see above).
Bottom line is that a viral mutation most often is of little consequence. The current variant of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 is EG.5 and it is a clear example of a viral variant that is of little consequence to human health.
What is the impact of a mutation on the effectiveness of a vaccine? Note it is important to understand that once upon a time a vaccine was defined as a substance that stops the spread of the virus by preventing its replication which, by the way Rochelle Walensky former Director of the CDC changed — illegally — so that now a vaccine is something that MAY keep you from getting as sick as if you didn’t get vaccinated. A thing for which there is no evidence.
So — as the narrative goes —IF a vaccine no longer stops the spread of a virus what will? Why a mask, of course.
MASKS
Here is a terrific explanation again of the whole mask thing and why the notion that a mask can stop the spread of a virus is a bunch of foolishness or, if you prefer, a grand lie. First, here is a graphic from that article that provides some context for what a “mask” is.
What needs to be made clear is that the N-95 mask is really a NIOSH/MSHA classified respiratory protection device and as such it is regulated in manufacture, use, and wear, facts all ignored by CDC, the press, and the Biden White House.
MATH
The key to understanding these three “masks” is the very last clause: “particles as small as 0.3 microns”. How big is a micron?
And how big is a SARS-CoV-2 virus particle? A SARS-CoV-2 virus particle is somewhere between 0.06 and 0.14 microns in size.
SO, what are the chances that something that filters particles greater than 0.3 microns will stop a particle that is less than 0.14 microns? NONE. ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH.
This —
is reality.
But this is what every public health agency, the media, and the worst “scientists” in the universe insist that you believe: “Everyone should get vaccinated and boosted when eligible, and wear a mask. The majority of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 are unvaccinated. Mutations are more likely to occur when COVID-19 is allowed to replicate, and one way to stop the spread and replication of COVID-19 is to get vaccinated.”
Who wrote this? Mohammad Mahdee Sobhanie, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Wexner Medical Center, Ohio State University College of Medicine.
In all fairness to Dr. Sobhanie he made this statement before Rochelle Walsensky, FORMER Director of CDC stabbed him and others in the back right after she cut their legs out from under them by redefining what a vaccine is:
Vaccine: A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.
In other words a vaccine no longer stops the spread of a disease it just (in theory) prevents a virus from replicating in your body — maybe. In short, it is a treatment — just - like - Ivermectin.
This is everything you need to now about SARS-CoV-2, its variants, and the things that the federal government and their media and political thugs insist that you believe — despite REAL science and mathematics.
Summary: There is no surge of COVID. Masks do not stop the spread of a virus. The mRNA stuff does not prevent transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.

Mah lah, they wearing us (me) down.
I'll give myself credit for having a laymen's general understanding of this. It's good to see it accurately explained.
