During World War II the world became familiar with a practice known as Hari-kari or seppuku. Seppuku is a form of ritual suicide practiced by samurai in Japan to restore honor after disgrace. It is a ceremonial process of historical significance but it was also practiced by some Japanese warriors in WW II.
In the United State and elsewhere firings are routine following disgraceful performances among CEOs, football, hockey, Olympic team, and basketball coaches.
Then there is the case when a person disagrees so viscerally with their boss or Board of Directors that they feel the need to make a statement and so they resign.
None of those actions result in immediate change. At best they allow for new blood with a new direction and the aspiration of turning the ship around and more importantly a calming of the “corporate” storm.
Two nights ago we witnessed the complete self destruction of the once proud and useful democrat party. It was the most embarrassing moment among a long string of embarrassments over the last ten or 12 years of the modern democrat party. So what is the proper response of the democrats in office who created this mess?
Hari-kari is unreasonable. Firing is not practicable because we all have to wait for elections to effect changes. And that leaves us with just one course of resolution:
Resignation. Vacate your seats and go play golf.
It is time to find some grownups from the democrat side back to fill the hopefully vacated House and Senate seats so that they can work with Republicans to find good solutions to real life problems.

Addendum: There is a distinction to be made between the samurai in the cover art of today’s post and the democrat party of today; the samurai was honorable.
Do you know the difference between a petulant child and a progressive? Neither do I.
