WHERE'S THE BEEF?!

Why Are The Kennedy and Gabbard Nomination Hearings Not Yet Scheduled.

The woman shouting into the phone is the now deceased Clara Peller who in 1984 at the tender age of 82 became the spokesperson for Wendy’s Hamburgers. Her fame came from being the crotchety “senior citizen” who demanded to know of other hamburger chains “Where’s the Beef?!” Sales of Wendy’s “juicy” burger, fries, and a Frosty quickly “improved”. But then less than a year after being the darling of Wendy’s Clara found another beef.

Wendy’s failed to sign Clara to an exclusive contract and so she was free to do commercials at ANY company she wanted to do commercials for other than a competing hamburger joint and she did. Clara, in a 1985 spot for Prego spaghetti sauce declared: “Here’s the Beef!!” This annoyed Wendy’s and so they dumped Clara in 1985. Over the next TWO YEARS Wendy’s sales “slumped” and according to Denny Lynch who was the Senior VP for Communications for Wendy’s at the time, brand recognition virtually disappeared for FIVE YEARS. It is estimated that in her brief tenure with Wendy’s Peller earned about $500,000.00 while in the first five weeks of the “Where’s the beef?!” campaign Wendy’s sales increased by 31% to $945,000,000.00.

For every story there is always a moral. In this case its this: When an 85 year old woman makes you more than $240,000,000.000 in just about one month — you buy her as much yarn as she wants to keep her happily knitting in her luxury dressing room — forever.

Larry! Why oh, why oh, why are you writing about the much beloved Clara Peller just two days from the historic inauguration of President Donald Trump?

And the answer is simple: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Kennedy is, of course, Trump’s somewhat unlikely nominee to be Secretary of the vitally important Department of Health and Human Services and Gabbard is his nominee for the equally important Director of National Intelligence. While many of Trump’s Cabinet nominees have already had committee hearings and others are scheduled the hearings for Kennedy and Gabbard are in the wind.

Why?

Because the democrats are annoyed. They’re in a snit. Their knickers are in a wad.

Because after being life long democrats both Gabbard and Kennedy realized that the democrat party they belonged to was not the party of their youth. In Kennedy’s case it was much worse because his uncle and his father, democrats both, were revered by a majority of Americans yet that same party in name only wouldn’t give Bobby the time of day.

And Tulsi Gabbard? In my view she is the only woman who the democrats could have won the Oval Office with. Gabbard, has a distinguished record of personal and professional accomplishments who was never on the left wing of the left entrenched democrat party.

By 2024 both Kennedy and Gabbard had taken a long hard look at the “THE” democrat party and loudly proclaimed: Where’s the beef?! Finding none, first Gabbard then Kennedy left the Party and became Independents and in short order Gabbard became a registered Republican and they were both endorsing Donald Trump’s third run for the White House.

For the hard corps, Squad embracing, Clinton-Obama wing of party controlled by anonymous and shadowy figures it was a bridge way too far. They called out their goon squad and their media counterparts and savaged both Gabbard and Kennedy. Phone calls and polite conversation with the only two democrats who could have given the party victory were out well past the Realm of Possibility on the democrats map of The Road to Success.

And today? Today, suddenly the Department of Justice’s FBI contends that essential paper work needed to complete the vetting process is missing and until it’s furnished a nomination hearing will be impossible.

Regardless of what you think of Bobby Kennedy’s politics and Tulsi Gabbard’s inexplicable time as a democrat they are both highly successful individuals whose past professional lives required attention to the detail of accurately completing and filing paper work on time. It makes no sense that they would now suddenly not remember how to do that in support of their nominations to two of worlds most visible and important positions in the U.S. Government.

So — Where’s the beef?!

The beef is within the democrat establishment that cannot tolerate the wayward sheep who have left the flock for cause and did so publicly and loudly.

Note to any democrat who accidentally found your way to the cleverly named Larry’s Letters: You lost. Elections have consequences. My best advice is to schedule the Kennedy and Gabbard hearings then go on a retreat of great soul searching; all y’all need it.
