Economic Conservatives, Constitutionalists, Evangelicals, Men and Women who love freedom are losing because we’ve come to believe that all we have to do is raise good families and vote and everything will be just fine.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why we are losing it all, our freedoms and our Republic.
Here is an example.
Issue 2 in Kentucky
Issue 2, if it had passed, would have changed our state constitution to acknowledge that it offers no right to abortion and or access to state funds to obtain one. Last year women from 22 states came to Kentucky to obtain abortions. Twenty-two States.
Why did women from 22 states come to Kentucky for abortions? Because Kentucky still allowed abortions up to 20 weeks gestation. The current abortion law in the state is being litigated because it limits abortion to only those cases in which a fetal heartbeat cannot be detected.
Neither Issue 2 or the 2019 “Fetal Heartbeat” law would have banned abortions in the state of Kentucky but that’s not what those opposed to those laws were telling you. They were telling the voters in no uncertain terms that if Issue 2 passed abortions would be banned in Kentucky. It was a lie. Period.
It was a lie that was aired endlessly on commercial, cable, and streaming services and and the lie targeted our young men and women in universities throughout the state. AND there was not one single ad that corrected this lie. NOT ONE.
Issue 2 should have passed in Kentucky with no problem because it mirrored the much praised Dobs decision which reversed the finding in Roe v. Wade thereby removing the federal government from having any role in the abortion question.
Issue 2 didn’t lose because its language was hard to understand. Issue 2 lost because no one defended it. No one spoke on its behalf. No one countered the lie.
Voting is not enough. Those who seek the destruction of the Republic understand this and they have built networks and capacity to defeat things like Issue 2 in order to undermine the fact that we were established as One Nation Under God, With Liberty And Justice For All.
Benjamin Franklin is credited for this response to a woman who asked after the first Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, what kind of a government we would have. “A Republic, if you can keep it.” he answered.
We are failing to keep it. We are not fighting for it. We are going along to get along. We are allowing ourselves to be bullied and shamed where no shame is warranted.
In my series: “DIVERSITY- Using Our Children to Create Chaos, Destroy the Family, Church, And the Republic” I explain how the forces eager to destroy this Nation have created a complex web of deceit for the sole purpose of turning everything that we know to be true upside down.
Case in point — why would any Christian accept the premise that gender is not restricted to just men and women, that it is “fluid” based not on biology but on emotional feelings that create an open ended spectrum of genders and sexual identities that are even recognized in children as young as three years old? In other words, God got it wrong. Yet this has happened and it is tearing our churches and our schools and our families apart. And with rare exceptions we have been unaware of it because the lie has not been confronted for what it really is — a lie.
While we are busy voting one day every couple of years for things like Issue 2 or hoping that our electoral process will magically become honest and open the opposition is using our constitution, our courts, our universities, our grade schools, our information sources, and our churches against us. In response we cluck our tongues and tell our barbers and hair dressers how terrible it all is.
I am quite certain that when the Pilgrims who had fled Europe because of religious persecution gathered for that very first day of giving thanks to the Lord God Almighty for bringing them through their first brutal year and allowing them peace and a bountiful harvest that they never anticipated that in the future that day would be celebrated by gluttony and football and the anticipation of Black Friday.
I am as guilty of all of that as anyone else. But it is a luxury I can no longer afford. I hope that you arrive at the same conclusion and that we all dedicate ourselves to supporting the joy of that fist Day of Thanks and the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution that followed and that we once again “…mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” And I ask that you join my wife and I as we spend a few moments on this Day of Giving Thanks in reflection and prayer for the gifts of life and freedom and the bounty that God has bestowed on us all.
