Thanksgiving day has come and gone and the shopping frenzy is in full swing but there is so much more that we need to be focused on then which ribbon goes with which paper and which paper is destined for which person.
A few days ago I posted this on my FB page: Happy Thanksgiving Day. Be thankful.
And we should be but not just on Thanksgiving day. We need to be thankful every day. God has surrounded us with immeasurable gifts of unexplainable grandeur, beauty, and simplicity. And he has given us hope.
And for my wife and I that “hope” comes in the form of yet another trip to the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico where she continues to receive integrative cancer therapies for her metastatic breast cancer. Those of you who have honored me with you presence here for the last several years you know a bit about the Oasis of Hope Hospital. Those who new here and are curious about what one day can be available in the U.S. please spend a few minutes here and when you do you will find data like this:
and this:
SEER is the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program of the National Cancer Institute.
To be sure, not every patient has this kind of outcome. We’ve made and lost far too many friends who turned to Oasis far too late because of the cost or lack of knowledge that such treatments are available and effective. So while not everyone has these results at Oasis of Hope there is at least a good chance that many will lead a good life of high quality for longer than expected.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if cancer patients in the U.S. had the opportunity to be treated at an “Oasis of Hope” here in the U.S. and have it covered by Medicare and Medicaid and every other insurance company in America.
And that is where my hope is; that some day soon our healthcare delivery system will adapt to the rest of world and change how they treat cancer.
Today we we head back to Oasis. Well be gone for few days and so the cleverly name Larry’s Letters will be “on vacation”.
In the meantime, pray for Donald Trump and Robert Kennedy Jr. and all those who give their talents and knowledge and passion to work with them to change the face of healthcare in the U.S. and then prepare well to celebrate the birth of Christ and be thankful every day.

May you continue to have excellent results as God brings permanent healing.
My best wishes and hope for both of you.
